Synchronica Teaches Smartphones how to Scream for Help PDF Print E-mail
Today in the UK, Synchronica, a solutions developer for mobile devices, announced the launch of a new service, the Synchronica Scream Feature. The Scream Feature is an alarm that can be remotely triggered to aid in locating a stolen or lost smartphone.

With millions of handhelds stolen every year, Synchronica is hoping its Scream Feature will help discourage thieves and allow victims to fight back. Mobile users everywhere keep private and sensitive data on their handhelds, and now with the Scream Feature, Synchronica can help deter those petty phone snatchers. Along with Synchronica’s existing Mobile Manager application that was created for over-the-air (OTA) management of smartphones, the Scream Feature will produce a high-pitched “scream” so it can be found easily when lost or stolen. Synchronica’s Mobile Manager also allows companies and operators to remotely configure or install software, and erase or lock misplaced or stolen devices. The Scream Feature can now be added as a bonus to the Mobile Manager package.

Synchronica’s Mobile Manager works only with smartphones supporting Windows Mobile 5, Windows Mobile 2003, and Pocket PC Phone Edition. Support for Symbian is currently in development.
