Developers working on applications for active sports enthusiasts will want to check out Nokia’s latest S60 3rd Edition device, the Nokia 5500 Sport phone. The new device senses movement and vibrations and provides a sports-tracking user interface that monitors and displays training data, speed, distances covered, number of steps taken (via an integrated pedometer), and calories burned.
Users can enhance the phone with health-related applications. The Nokia 5500 Sport phone also features a digital music player that can store approximately 750 songs and a 2-megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom.
