HP yesterday launched an impressive new range of iPAQ devices, including two new PDA phones. The devices, the iPAQ 610 and iPAQ 910, include a large range of high-end features not usually seen on highly business-focused devices.
The iPAQ 910 'Business Messenger' is HP's new QWERTY keyboard equipped messaging device, featuring a 2.46" landscape orientation touch screen and measuring up at 113mm x 64mm x 16mm (4.45" x 2.52" x 0.63").
Specifications shared with the iPAQ 610 include a 3MP auto focus camera, quad-band GSM and tri-band WCDMA/HSDPA compatibility, 802.11b/g WiFi, and Bluetooth v2.0+EDR. The tri-band 3G frequency support means that the devices are compatible with high-speed networks the world over, including across Europe and the US.
Swapping the QWERTY keyboard and landscape display for a larger, 2.8" portrait touch screen is the HP iPAQ 610.
Though both new iPAQ devices include A-GPS functionality, the 610 is marketed as the 'Business Navigator,' and includes an interesting touch-sensitive scroll wheel integrated into the numeric keypad. The HP iPAQ 610 measures up at 117mm x 60.3mm x 17.5mm (4.6" x 2.37" x 0.69") and, like the 910, utilizes microSD memory cards for memory expansion.
Both new HP devices run Windows Mobile 6 Professional, with its full complement of PIM functionality. No information on specific market availability has been released as yet.
